New refrigerated truck will bring food into local food deserts
United Against Poverty (UAP) has unveiled a new refrigerated truck to help bring food into Central Florida food deserts as part of its Mobile Prosperity Program to support families in need with nutritious, affordable groceries. The 26-foot-long truck is the first of its kind will bring a variety of healthy groceries into USDA designated areas with low income and limited access to nutritious foods. The Florida Blue Foundation has generously provided grant funding for the refrigerated trucks. Each truck will be staffed with a Crisis Navigator to help recipients request additional services offered by United Against Poverty.
