Free, mobile healthcare services expanding in Fort Pierce
It’s not easy for people in underprivileged communities to get access to quality healthcare and it’s really hard to afford, even if you manage to find it.
However, Cleveland Clinic, the HANDS Clinic of St. Lucie County and United Against Poverty are now teaming up to try to make healthcare accessible to everyone.
St. Lucie County’s population continues to shoot through the roof, but affordable healthcare isn’t keeping up at the same rate.
“St. Lucie County, it’s experiencing a tremendous growth in population and people are moving down here but they’re not bringing their own primary physicians,” said Lisa Hatch, the executive director of the HANDS Clinic. “This area that we’re in has a lack of primary (care) services.”
