HELP US TO FEED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ACROSS FLORIDA EVERY DAY!

We understand that optimizing unsaleable products is a crucial task for corporations. Our Non-Profit Organization has a unique grocery program model with professional logistics capabilities that can assist you in your sustainability operations. Our services not only help your business achieve its goals but also help families in need throughout the communities we serve. Our goal is to help provide access to necessities like nutritious food, hygiene items and essential household products, which can empower families and individuals to lift themselves to a sustainable economic self-sufficiency.

Member Share Grocery Program

Our unique food program, known as the Member Share Grocery Program (MSGP), is an affordable and sustainable way for families to access nutritious food and essential household products. We have designed our food subsidy model to bridge the gap between food pantry assistance and families being able to afford shopping at a traditional grocery store. Families and individuals who fall at or below 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible for this program and receive a free membership. With this membership, families can access the program unlimitedly and contribute a nominal handling fee for the products they need, saving families, on average, 60-70% of their household food budget. This dignified approach empowers families to select the items they need for their household and inspires them to take a hand UP! not a handout, as they work towards economic self-sufficiency. Additionally, we offer our members crisis care, educational, and job training programs on-site at our UP Centers. Our model provides a well-rounded approach to help families break the cycle of poverty.

Too Good To Waste!

Sustainability

Retailers, distributors, farms, and manufacturers often face challenges with products that become unsaleable due to reasons like nearing expiration dates, incorrect labeling, damage, overstock, or discontinuation. Instead of discarding these items, the EPA suggests donating them to organizations like United Against Poverty. By doing so, companies not only contribute to feeding those in need but also support their sustainability initiatives by keeping these products out of landfills. The donated goods play a crucial role in helping feed families and individuals and help them break the cycle of poverty.

At United Against Poverty, we are committed to ensuring that the products we distribute meet all USDA, state, and federal safety standards. Our Distribution Center and Member Share Grocery Centers are staffed with food safety-certified professionals to ensure we comply with all food safety requirements. With complete control over our internal supply chain, we can swiftly and safely move donated products into the hands of families in need, often within 24 to 36 hours of receiving them.

We encourage product manufacturers and organizations to follow the food recovery hierarchy, prioritizing actions that prevent and divert food waste. Let us help you meet your sustainability goals and provide food to families in need.
