Crowds savor Burgers & Brews while supporting a great cause

VERO BEACH — Grills fired up early Saturday as thousands of visitors filled the Indian River County Fairgrounds for Burgers & Brews, sampling creative burgers, craft brews and supporting United Against Poverty’s mission of providing affordable groceries, workforce training and other programs for local families.

About 3,500 people attended the annual fundraiser, which featured 11 restaurant competitors, 12 breweries and 96 vendors. The event’s move to the fairgrounds gave organizers room to grow while attracting visitors from across the Treasure Coast.
