Mobile Food Pop-up Bringing Discount Healthy Foods to PSL This Spring
The Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Department will host St. Lucie County’s United Against Poverty food trucks at its parks, which offer fresh, healthy meals at discounted prices. Visitors will have four opportunities to stop by the mobile food pop-ups.
United Against Poverty will be at select City parks selling well-balanced and nutritious food in bulk at a reduced cost, while supplies last. The items for sale will include vegetables, fruit, grains, and an assortment of cased soft drinks and water at prices between $1 and $5. Additionally, each family will receive a free loaf of bread, while supplies last.
“On behalf of the City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Department, we have long desired to offer quality community outreach in our City parks,” said Patricia Roberts, Deputy Director of the Parks & Recreation Department. “United Against Poverty Community Outreach, powered by Parks & Recreation, is just that opportunity, serving as a food security opportunity for Port St. Lucie residents to find produce, healthy food items, and more, at a reduced rate.”
The food trucks will be available:
- Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m. to noon at Sportsman’s Park, 201 NW Prima Vista Blvd.
- Saturday, June 10, 9 a.m. to noon at Whispering Pines Park, 800 SW Darwin Blvd.
- Saturday, August 26, 9 a.m. to noon at Lyngate Park, 1301 SE Lyngate Dr.
- Saturday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to noon at Sportsman’s Park, 201 NW Prima Vista Blvd.
