Community Foundation Awards $175,000 to Five Local Nonprofits
Indian River Community Foundation awarded grants totaling $175,000 to nonprofit charitable organizations serving Indian River County. The grants were reviewed by a Grants Committee comprised of volunteers Pat Brier, Toni Hamner, Dale Jacobs, Ed Massey, Sandy Rolf, and Larry Salustro. The grants were awarded from the Community Enrichment Fund, and included the following:
- $50,000 to SafeSpace for the expansion of their emergency shelter programs.
- $50,000 to The Hope for Families Center for their Hope for Families Shelter program.
- $50,000 to United Against Poverty for general program support.
- $15,000 to Youth Sailing Foundation for their afterschool squadron of Gifford Middle School students.
- $10,000 to Feed the Lambs to support their existing programs and the expansion of their RR&R Mentoring Program.
